Grenache is one of the great grape varieties of the south and next to Tempranillo the most widely grown grape southern regions, where its origin is believed to be.
The old variety has undergone many mutations over time and so it is available in red and white and with a gray tone as Grenache gris. The red Grenache is the most common. It is relatively strong in alcohol with soft tannins and a good flavor. It is a single variety and is often developed as a Syrah. From the southern Rhône down, it is one of the most important grape varieties and produces such inspiring wines.
Due to its exceptionally late ripening, Grenache is particularly well adapted to hot climates such as those found in Spain and southern France. In addition to the late ripening, what is unusual about Grenache is the fact that the grape variety produces wine that is quite low in tannins and light, but still rich in alcohol. Grenache is therefore often blended with tannin, dark grape varieties.
Alary La Jean de Verde Cairanne
The Alary La Jean de Verde Cairanne is the flagship of the domaine and perhaps the best wine of the appellation ever vinified. The wine consists mainly of Grenache with a small addition of Carignan.
Domaine des Bosquets Gigondas La Colline
The La Colline is a masterpiece. It has only been bottled separately since 2013. 100 percent Grenache, from old vines on limestone marl at high altitude and in exposed regions. Experts describe it as the king of all Grenache and expresses its intensity in gentle vinification.

The Malayeto is the flagship of the bodegas and a varietal wine made from the grape variety Grenache.
